UGG was founded in California in 1978 and became globally known for its signature sheepskin boots, originally worn by surfers to warm up after the ocean. Designed by Peter Moore for Michael Jordan’s rookie season and released in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 started life as a basketball shoe and became one of the most recognisable silhouettes in sneaker culture. The black and royal blue pairing was among the original colourways, and this ‘Royal’ brings it back with a black base, royal blue suede overlays, and the Swoosh, heel and collar picking up the same blue.  At Maha Amsterdam, we like to let the blue do the work: because the base is black, the pair sits easily with straight or wide-leg jeans, grey joggers and a boxy sweatshirt, or a black or navy jacket, adding one clear pop of colour to an otherwise neutral outfit. Wear the jeans long enough to rest over the collar, keep your socks white or grey, and the rest takes care of itself. A soft dry cloth or suede brush is all it needs to stay clean.
