What is your first fashion memory?

My downstairs neighbor had an atelier, he would make custom leather outfits using old motorcycle jackets and recycled leather. I always couldn't wait to be big enough to wear it myself. 

What initially drew you into the world of styling?

I honestly just liked collecting garments. Clothes to me are a way of changing your personality and mood, so when I would sometimes dress my friends, I would dress them like a concept, what feeling and mood they would give off in the way I dressed them. I guess that's what drew me to styling, you get to curate that feeling.

The shoot took place in your father's art studio, why did you choose this place for the shoot?

My father and his ever changing studios have been a big inspiration my whole life. It's filled with books, scraps etc. Our house used to be an art studio as well. I like being surrounded by art and chaos. It's part of who I am, and what influences me the most. 

Really from anything, I can walk around a city, town, nature, pick and sort little things that would inspire me. Natural Colorings of the walls, industrial spaces, really anything with form. Films also play a very big role! 

How do you like to use colour?

I like to use colour in an emotional and symbolic way. For example, red as alluring, white for pure, soft colors for tranquility etc. and a pop of color just completely to disrupt that again. 

How would you describe your approach to getting dressed yourself, compared to your approach to styling professionally?

It's a lot harder to dress myself than someone else, my emotions play too much of a role and I can become very conscious of what I wear but as for someone else you can construct them into a completely different being based on the setting and concept someone else or you have given them. I can live vicariously through the different persones I have created by the styling.
